Mystery Motorola Device Stops by FCC, is It Really a Nexus 6? (Updated)

A poser Motorola device showed adult during a FCC currently (ID IHDT56PK2), a phone that is starring in a garland of papers that we are still browsing by to hopefully find specifics on what it competence be. Engadget seems to consider that it is a Nexus 6, yet we haven’t found anything nonetheless that unequivocally leads us to trust that this is it. It could be – we aren’t observant that this isn’t it. Here is what we know so far. (We will be updating this post as we have more.)

The device sports a accurate same (seriously, exact same to a one-hundredth of a millimeter) dimensions as a DROID TURBO (aka “QUARK“) that is a new DROID on a approach to Verizon. From what we know, a DROID TURBO will have a 5.5-inch QHD display, with capacitive navigation buttons sitting only next a display. It seems peculiar that a new Nexus would compare those accurate measure if it were to use a 5.92-inch arrangement with on-screen buttons. Then again, maybe those on-screen buttons take a arrangement from 5.5-inches to 5.92-inches. That could really good be a box here. we am still a small astounded to see a tallness and breadth of a phones compare adult so perfectly, though.

Outside of a distance details, we know that this sold phone sports LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 7, 17 and GSM bands of 850, 1700, and 1900. That looks like an ATT phone to me, not a global-ready multi-band savage that Google typically puts out when it releases a Nexus phone.

The device also has Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and 802.11ac WiFi.

As of now, this looks to me like a DROID TURBO that has potentially been rebranded for ATT. A Moto Maxx name has flush here or there over a past integrate of months; maybe that’s what we are looking at.

Update:  This phone has a accurate same battery as a TURBO, indication series EQ40. Keep in mind that we still do not have acknowledgment on a distance of that battery, yet final year’s DROID MAXX used a battery underneath indication series EU40, suggesting that a EQ40 is of identical size. We are saying support for Motorola’s Turbo Charger and wireless charging as well.

Update 2:  As was forked out in a comments and on Android Face, a papers indeed contend that this is fundamentally a homogeneous of a DROID TURBO. In fact, they privately anxiety a DROID TURBO FCC filing, observant that this is both electrically and mostly physically equivalent, including in pattern and topology, electrical components, earthy layout, bureau tuning, and earthy characteristics.

Will Update as we have more.
