FTC says ATT misled business with total data
WASHINGTON (AP) — ATT is being sued by a supervision over allegations it misled millions of smartphone business who were betrothed total information skeleton though instead gifted delayed speeds while browsing a Internet or examination streaming video.
The Federal Trade Commission says ATT Mobility Inc. unsuccessful to sufficient divulge to business that it would revoke information speeds if they went over a certain volume of information use in a billing cycle. The practice, famous as throttling, slows down things like web browsing, GPS navigation or streaming videos.
According to a censure filed in sovereign justice in San Francisco on Tuesday, about 3.5 million consumers have been affected. Some business had information speeds slowed by scarcely 90 percent, a FTC said.
The elect says ATT began throttling business on total information skeleton in 2011.
ATT denied dubious customers.
